The History of Hannah

Okay, these sculptures require a little explanation. Often when I am reading to the girls for school, I will give them either play dough or paper and crayons/markers/colored pencils to create what we are reading about. They listen better because they are intent of what they are creating and they have to listen to know WHAT to create. This particular day (which was the first day of school), we were reading about History, the definition of History, and some examples. This is Hannah's play dough sculpture of her own History. The lady on the bed? Well that is me, of course. And the baby I am holding is her. The dude on the right is Daddy, see the big smile on his face? And then on the left we have the doctor. I tried to explain that the nurses do all the work, but she called him the doctor. I thought it was beautiful, and she will remember what history is because she created it with her own two hands as we read. This is the beauty of homeschooling.

School Has Started

Bedtime Fun

Hannah was trying to be helpful by tucking Josh into bed, but it became a fun gameas they all took turns tucking each other into bed the way Daddy does it when he is home. As you can see, they were having a great time.

Six Flags Birthday Trip

For their birthday, Jaydon and Hannah agreed to celebrate together this year. the one thing they wanted to do was take some friends and spend the day riding as many rollar coasters as possible. So the day came, and we left Bailey, Joshua, and Abby with my friend Kelly and headed north to Six Flags with Kerri, Mason, Morgan, Garci, Shauna, David, and Michael. The weather forcast was for rain and cold all day, but I was praying they would be wrong. When we got to Six Flags it was drizzling, but we decided to go in anyway and continued to pray it would stop. After about an hour and a half it was still raining, sometimes very hard, and 48 degrees, so we (okay, I) decided enough was enough, and we came home.

Yoshi dug a hole under the fence, so Jaydon went out with the shovel and filled in the hole, cause Yoshi has been crawling under the fence.
